SHOCKWAVE THERAPY

Finding all-natural, drug-free pain management solutions can be difficult for those who suffer from chronic pain conditions. Shockwave therapy has been proven to be a safe pain management tool.

Shockwave therapy, with OrthoPulse Ultra 100, uses low-intensity sound waves to stimulate the body's natural healing process. The sound waves are applied directly to the affected area. They stimulate blood flow to the area, and also cause a small amount of localized inflammation. In the days after treatment, the body will work to naturally heal this inflammation, and in doing so, it will stimulate the repair and regeneration of cells. It is suggested by research that those acoustic waves stimulate the production of fibroblasts (fibroblasts are cells responsible for healing of connective tissue such as tendons.)

There is no downtime, but we usually recommend 24-48h rest for the area of treatment. The patient needs to refrain from any NSAIDs during treatment.
